Mrs. Janet Watson the CO Spouse of Marine Corps Barracks Washington, D.C., 8th & I is most generously opening her home June 12th to host the USMC Officers' NOVA Spouse Group, but wait that's not all... she has also arranged for us to attend the Evening Parade!!
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to come to the Marine Corps Barracks; raise your glass in Quarters 3 prior to the Parade, have a chance to meet other spouses you may not have known, then be escorted to special seating to watch the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon... all from the "Oldest Post of the Corps". What a night this will be! THANK YOU JANET!!!
THE DETAILS:
20 Spouses total is the limit for this event, and we all must belong to the USMC Officers' NOVA Spouse group. This is on a first come first serve basis.

Time: 6:30pm (this means be at Mrs. Watson's door no earlier than 6:30pm) Thank you :)
How & Where to Enter Quarters 3:
You will be entering through the personal gate of Quarters 3 from the sidewalk outside the Barracks. If you don't know where that is located, just stop a Marine and ask which entry gate belongs to Quarters 3 and you will be directed to it. Have your DOD military ID with you, your name will be on a protocol list. Do not assume you can bring a friend. Only spouses that are registered for this event will be allowed entry due to protocol and security.
As a security precaution, all guests entering the Barracks pass through magnetic detection devices. No weapons of any kind, including knives, are allowed inside the Barracks. No food or beverages are permitted with the exception of water and baby food/bottles.
PARKING:
Please try and carpool. We have special parking arranged by Mrs. Watson, but it's limited.
Where to Park if Driving: Tyler Elementary School (1001 G St SE, Washington, DC 20003)
By Metro Rail:
The nearest Metro station is the "Eastern Market" stop on the Blue or Orange line. Exit the metro station and proceed to the right on 8th Street, S.E. Marine Barracks will be on your left 3 blocks from the Eastern Market metro station.
